What is FOSS?
Friends of St Saviour’s (FOSS) exists in order to raise funds for the school and put on events that the children enjoy. It is of course vital that there are enough pens and pencils in school, but this is not everything, there is so much more  that can be offered.

For example, each year the whole school enjoys a day out to the pantomime at Christmas. This would not be possible without the contribution from FOSS. We also raise funds for things like playground equipment, wildlife gardens, climbing frames and such like. While these are not strictly necessary to the education of our kids, they do enhance it enormously.

To raise funds we put on events such as Christmas, Easter and Summer Fetes, quizzies beetledrives and discos. Not only do these make money in order for our children to get more out of school, they also increase the social interaction between parents, children and teachers.

Obviously as the school has newly expanded there is an ever greater need for money and so it is even more important than ever that we welcome more parents to join us.  None of the above is possible without the time and enthusiasm of parents. You can do as much or as little as you like.

We are always looking for people to be on the committee and help organise events, people to help out on the day, bake cakes, come up with new ideas or simply turn up. Without this our children will not get as much out of school.  Also it’s a good chance to socialise and a great way to meet other parents which can be quite daunting when you are new to a school.

St Saviour’s are working towards a paperless system in schools. You will need to have accounts set up for Parent Mail and Parent Pay – if you need help getting these set up, please contact the school office.
